How to Get ThereCar - Driving from Bangkok to Chiang Mai takes around 9 hours, which you may pass several provinces such as Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Nakhon Sawan, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Tak, Lampang, Lamphun and Chiang Mai, depending on the Highway you choose.Bus - The bus services of air-conditioned buses are available at Northern Bus Terminal. The level of comfort depends on the grading of your bus ticket. Some buses may provide snack, beverage, television and seat massage services. Enjoy your 10-hour journey.Rail - The State Railways of Thailand operates daily services from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong). Trains leave for Chiang Mai daily from 8.00am - 10.00pm.Air - The fastest way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is by airplane. It takes approximately one hour.
